Employee: Luke Miller
Award Criteria:
- Professionalism – Demonstrated performance, competence, resourcefulness and courtesy.
Nominated By: Capt. LeAnn Rabun
Explanation of Nomination:
I wanted you to know that today Officer Luke Miller put our recent training to use today, 5-6-23. He was flagged down by a mother whose 13-year-old daughter was having an anaphylactic reaction due to food allergies. The 13-year-old was not breathing on her own as she was giving the universal sign for choking or not being able to breathe by putting her hands around her neck to indicate it. The mother had an epipen but did not know how to utilize it. Officer Miller took the epipen, correctly utilized it and was able provide the 13-year-old with some relief to her allergic reaction. Officer Miller called for EMS and kept an eye on the daughter. Officer Miller took the time to educate the mother on how to properly utilize the remaining epipen in the event it would be needed in the future. I wanted to ensure you were aware of how the training that was provided had been utilized to save a 13-year-old. EMS took several minutes to arrive on scene and had Officer Miller not properly utilized the epipen, the outcome for the 13-year-old could have been worse.

Nominated By: Tawanda Triplett
Explanation of Nomination:
- I would like to nominate Bobby Edwards for employee of the quarter, Bobby is the Pre-Treatment Coordinator here at the WRF. Although he holds that position, He does far more than his pretreatment duties. He helps out in the lab every morning running one of the most difficult test we perform, our ammonias, I arrive to work early every morning and Bobby is always the first to come in the door. He is at his workstation preparing or starting his test before his scheduled tour. Not only is he prompt, Bobby is always ready to help out wherever he can help out. We have two lab technicians, so when someone calls in or goes on vacation, being busy is an understatement. Bobby jumps right in and not only completes his work, but does everything he can to lighten our load as much as possible. He is an asset not just here at the WRF, but for the city as a whole. He receives phone calls from people all over the city, asking questions he sometimes don’t have the answers to, but he never disappoints. Bobby will search high and low for answers and try to help to the best of his ability. I have witnessed this on countless occasions. In closing , I would like to say, and I know it may sound a bit cliché’, but if we were looking for a mascot for Best Team Player. My vote would be “BOBBY”.
