2025 Community Survey

In late 2025, the City of Goldsboro launched its inaugural Community Survey to hear directly from you. We asked about your satisfaction with City programs and how you want your tax dollars prioritized.

The results are in, and they will serve as our roadmap for strategic planning, budget development, and service improvements over the next two years.

Key Highlights: Where Goldsboro Shines

According to the survey, residents gave the City high marks in several key areas:

  • Downtown Development: 64% of residents are pleased with the quality of Downtown Goldsboro.

  • Public Safety: 80% of residents are satisfied with the overall quality of our fire services.

  • Customer Service: 72% of residents who contacted the City found it easy to reach the right staff member.

  • Public Works: 67% of respondents are satisfied with our garbage collection services.

Your Priorities: The Road Ahead

Residents also identified the major areas where they want to see the City focus its efforts and resources over the next two years:

  • Infrastructure: Maintenance of City streets and sidewalks.

  • Smart Growth: Better management and planning of growth, development, and traffic.

  • Public Safety: Focusing on the overall quality and effectiveness of police services.

  • Communication: Increasing efforts to keep the public informed and involved in local decision-making.

Turning Data into Action

The results of this survey are more than just numbers; they are measurable data points that will guide us as we plan future budgets, make decisions, and provide policy guidance.

About the Survey Process

To ensure every segment of our population was represented, the survey was conducted by the ETC Institute and made available in English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole.

  • Representative Sample: We exceeded our goal of 400 surveys, with 526 residents participating.

  • City-Wide Coverage: Responses were received from every council district (at least 79 per district).

  • Reliable Results: The response rate produces a 95% confidence level, ensuring that these findings accurately reflect the voice of our community.
