Learning how to maintain pump systems and equipment, also keeping water levels at optimum levels..
Keeping both fountains clean and free of debris.
During our last snow storm Lori kept both The Center Street Fountain and The Herman Park Fountain from freezing over.
Lori then oversaw the cleanup afterwards, removing clay and dirt from the Herman Park Fountain as well as getting the salt cleaned up from around The Center Street Fountain before it damaged the plants.
Lori has also learned how to maintain the pools systems at Peacock Pool and Mina Weil Pool during our winter shut down.
Maintaining our pump and filter systems as well as our chemical metering systems. Keeping both systems free of trash and debris so as to operate within normal ranges.
She has been egger to ask questions when needed and give input when she has ideas on how to improve the process.
Despite being having her work load tripled this quarter she has maintained a great attitude.
Lori comes to work early every day with a positive attitude and a smile for her coworkers. She has been a team player, worked well with coworkers, and has been an asset to the operation.

Nomination Remarks
This project is a multi departmental improvement of the Goldsboro Historic Markers.
After consultation with Assistant City Manager and State of North Carolina, Paul Saylors inventoried and assessed the condition of the fourteen (14) Historic Street Markers that relate to Goldsboro history. It was determined that limited maintenance is conducted by NCDOT and the community is informally responsible for the maintenance and condition of the signs. Also, Paul determined that there was limited information or inventory of the Goldsboro signs.
Paul took it upon himself to document and assess the condition of the signs. This working document is now available and will be used in the future to provide information about the sings.
Once the assessment was complete, it was turned over to Engineering Department. Jonathan gave it to the Street and Sign Division (Michael and Tim) who in one week cleaned, re-painted, and improved the condition of the signs.
A great multi departmental project that exhibits community spirt and pride. The signs will now be maintained to a desired standard so they have a long-life of providing historic stories of Goldsboro.
I have further information including the assessment and before/after pictures of the signs.
